Description

Sklar's Posi-Locking Instrument Holder is used to securely hold instruments such as hemostatic forceps, needle holders, and scissors in the open position during sterilization. Once aligned, a locking mechanism ensures the instruments do not slide off the holder. While the locking mechanism provides secure placement of the instruments during cleaning, transporting, and storage, it also makes removal of the instruments slightly more difficult when preparing for a procedure than if a non-locking instrument stringer were used. Multiple sizes of the Posi Locking holder are available depending on the volume of instruments being used. This product is 14" x 2-1/2".

Frequently asked questions

Does this holder keep instruments securely in place?

Yes, this device features a Posi-Locking mechanism specifically engineered to ensure instruments like forceps, needle holders, and scissors remain securely positioned. This prevents them from sliding off the holder during cleaning, sterilization, or transport.

Is the stainless steel material durable for frequent use?

Absolutely. It is constructed from high-quality, durable stainless steel designed for long-term, repeated use in demanding clinical and sterilization environments.

Can I safely use this around patients with latex allergies?

Yes, the product is guaranteed to be free from natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for healthcare environments where staff or patients may have latex sensitivities.

How does this compare to disposable instrument stringers?

Unlike disposable options, this Posi-Locking holder is a reusable, sustainable solution built for long-term clinical use. Its robust design provides an economical alternative that stands up to frequent sterilization cycles.

Are there any special maintenance requirements for the locking mechanism?

The mechanism is designed for standard reprocessing workflows. Please note that because the locking feature is engineered for maximum security, preparing instruments for a procedure may require slightly more manual effort compared to standard, non-locking stringers.

Is this product TAA compliant?

Yes, the Sklar Posi-Locking Instrument Holder is fully TAA compliant, meeting rigorous quality and sourcing standards suitable for government and institutional purchasing.

Is this device suitable for high-agitation sterilization cycles?

Yes, it is highly recommended for such environments. The Posi-Lock design is specifically intended to prioritize the secure retention of complex instruments, such as hinged forceps, even during high-agitation sterilization processes.

Does this come with any long-term quality guarantee?

Yes, this instrument holder is backed by a lifetime warranty, reflecting the manufacturer’s confidence in its high-grade construction and durability.

How should I handle the product before its first use?

This product is supplied non-sterile. It must be put through your facility’s established sterilization and cleaning protocols before its initial use with surgical instruments.

Is this 14-inch length sufficient for most surgical kits?

The 14-inch by 2.5-inch dimensions are designed to accommodate a generous volume of long instruments. It is an ideal size for standard surgical instrument reprocessing workflows, particularly those involving long-handled tools or scissors.
