The Mettler Applicator 223 (#6012 / AP223) is a two-ball firm rubber applicator with a narrow width used to straddle the spinal column and work muscles on either side without touching bony protrusions of the column. It can be used for deep massage of large muscle groups in select areas, but is also well-adapted for manipulation of the smaller joints, because the balls can be worked into the flesh while the oval plate connecting the balls is high enough to override intervening bony structures.

The AP223 is designed for use with the G5 Massage Machines, such as the GBM (#ME 600), G5 Plus (#ME 610), GK-3 (#ME 650), ProPower (#ME 660), and Therassist (#ME 630).
