Description

The Integra MediHoney Paste Wound and Burn Dressing is made of 100% Active Leptospermum medical grade honey. The dressing helps maintain a moist environment conducive to wound healing and helps aid and support autolytic debridement.

The MediHoney Paste is indicated for light to moderately exuding wounds such as: diabetic foot ulcers, leg ulcers (venous stasis ulcers, arterial ulcers, and leg ulcers of mixed etiology), pressure ulcers / sores (partial and full thickness), 1st and 2nd degree burns, donor sites, traumatic wounds, and surgical wounds.

The paste is ideal for use in hard to dress wounds areas such as tunneled wounds, sinus wounds, and wounds with undermining. It has the ability to seep down into areas of the wound you may not be able to reach with other dressings.

Features

Integra MediHoney Paste Wound and Burn Dressing Features

  • Derived from the nectar of the Leptospermum species.
  • Maintains its effectiveness even in the presence of wound fluid.
  • Selected, authenticated, and processed using leading scientific technology to validate its purity and consistency.
  • The only type of honey shown in a randomized controlled study to help wounds that have stalled under first-line treatment to progress towards healing.
  • Can be removed without causing trauma to the wound when a primary dressing is used.
  • Sterile.
  • Medical Grade Manuka Honey:
    • Low pH of 3.5 to 4.5.
    • Ultra filtrated and sterilized by gamma irradiation.
    • High osmolarity.
      • Because of its sugar content, these dressings are hypertonic.
      • Facilitates movement of fluid from an area of higher concentration across a membrane to an area of lower concentration.
      • Osmotic potential draws fluid through the wound to the surface, helping to liquefy non-viable tissue.
