HK Surgical 2X Infiltration Tubing (10/Case)

The HK Surgical 2X Infiltration Tubing (#IT2X-10 / 10 per Case) is an extension tubing used in conjunction with Infiltration Tubing (#ITS or #ITD) and a model of the Klein Infiltration Pump (#KIP-II, #KTIP, or #KTP).

The distal end of the IT2X tubing has a female luer lock, which connects to the luer lock on the Klein Infiltration Tubing or other luer lock connections. The other end forms a Y-connection which separates into two ends with male luer lock connectors and pinch-clamps to attach to two infiltration cannulas or other luer lock connections.

The IT2X Infiltration Tubing and Monty Infiltration Technique, designed by Dr. Jeffrey Klein, provide an innovative and proven method for dramatically reducing tumescent infiltration time by as much as 50%. Using this technique, a single clinician can infiltrate tumescent anesthesia by simultaneously using two Monty Infiltration Cannulas and only a single Klein Pump. Alternatively, two clinicians can infiltrate tumescent anesthesia with one Infiltration Cannula per clinician.

Most clinicians utilizing the Monty Infiltration Technique prefer Double Spike Infiltration Tubing (#ITD-20) for the convenience of having two tumescent IV bags spiked and avoid having to stop as often to change these bags.

The infiltration process is initiated with two Monty Infiltrators inserted into two separate areas of fat. When one Monty has produced sufficient tumescence, the pinch clamp on its tubing is closed, allowing that Monty to be re-positioned, while the tumescent fluid continues to flow through the other Monty. By alternating between the two Monty Infiltrators in this fashion, the infiltration pump can continue to pump without interruption while one of the Monty Infiltrators is withdrawn and then re-positioned.
