  • Clear Polycarbonate: The material provides optical clarity, allowing for immediate visual inspection of the collected fluid’s level, color, and consistency.
  • Estimation Markings: The bottle also includes integrated volume markings (calibrated from 800 ml up to 2800 ml) for estimating fluid volume.
Is the durable polycarbonate bottle autoclavable?

Yes, this Gomco collection bottle is specifically designed for repeated use, making it a cost-effective alternative to disposable systems.

Since it is constructed from durable, clear polycarbonate, it is fully reusable and steam sterilizable (autoclavable).

Key specifications for sterilization are:

  • Material: Polycarbonate
  • Method: Steam sterilization (Autoclavable)
  • Maximum Temperature: 270° F
Is the bottle compatible with hospital piping systems?

Yes, the Gomco Polycarbonate Collection Bottle is designed for universal compatibility within clinical settings.

  • Piping Systems: It adapts seamlessly to all standard hospital piping systems.
  • Aspirator Units: It is compatible with a wide range of Allied Healthcare/Gomco aspirators, including Thoracic Drainage, General Use, Gastric Drainage, and Surgical Aspirators (e.g., models 6020, 3020, 6000, 3910, and others).
What is the maximum collection capacity?

The maximum collection capacity of this reusable polycarbonate bottle is 2800 ml (one gallon).

Key details regarding volume:

  • The integrated volume markings are calibrated from 800 ml up to 2800 ml for estimation purposes.
  • If utilizing the optional metal cap and float assembly, the positive shut-off mechanism interrupts suction near 2600 ml to prevent fluid carryover into the pump.
Does the bottle feature clear volume markings?

Yes, the Gomco Polycarbonate Collection Bottle features clear construction and integrated volume markings to aid in visual fluid monitoring.

  • Calibration Range: The markings are calibrated from 800 ml up to 2800 ml (the full capacity).
  • Purpose: These markings are designed for convenient visual inspection and estimating the collected fluid volume.
  • Note: It is essential to remember that these calibrations are for estimation purposes only and should not be used for precise medical measurements.
Is the collection bottle made from durable polycarbonate?

The Gomco Collection Bottle is primarily made from clear polycarbonate, ensuring durability and allowing for easy visual inspection of collected fluids. Some configurations also include metal components in the cap and float assembly.

What are the physical dimensions of the collection bottle?

The Gomco Polycarbonate Collection Bottle, which holds a substantial 2800 ml (one gallon) capacity, features the following physical dimensions:

  • Height: 10.6 inches
