Frequently asked questions

Does the device have a patient event button?

Yes, the GE Global SEER Light Recorder includes a patient event button that allows patients to quickly and easily indicate when an episode occurs.

Are extended monitoring options available?

Yes, the GE Global SEER Light Recorder is available in two distinct configurations to meet varying clinical needs for continuous, diagnostic-quality ECG recording:

  • SEER Light (Standard): Records high-fidelity ECG data for monitoring periods within 24 hours.
  • SEER Light Extend (Extended): Doubles the capacity to record for monitoring periods within 48 hours. This extended option is ideal for capturing intermittent or less frequent cardiac symptoms.
Does it record diagnostic quality ECG data?

Yes, the GE Global SEER Light Recorder is specifically engineered to capture diagnostic quality ECG data for comprehensive cardiac monitoring. This high-quality data is essential for diagnosing conditions such as arrhythmia, chest pain, and shortness of breath, and for monitoring the effectiveness of cardiac medications and pacemaker function.

Key features supporting its diagnostic capability include:

  • Multi-Channel Recording: The device records 3 channels for ECG, plus dedicated channels for Movement Level and Pacemaker Pulse.
  • Integral Pacemaker Detection: It features integral pacemaker detection on Channel 1 (CH1), streamlining monitoring for patients with pacemakers by eliminating the need for a separate specialized recorder.
  • Reliable Data Storage: Data is stored reliably on onboard 32 MB solid-state memory, ensuring high fidelity and durability during data capture.
  • System Compatibility: The recorded data is fully compatible with GE’s MARS PC Holter systems, utilizing the renowned Marquette EK-Pro analysis for professional diagnostic review.
Does the recorder feature integral pacemaker detection?

Yes, the GE Global SEER Light Recorder features integral pacemaker detection built directly into the device.

This is a major benefit, as it:

  • Eliminates the need for a separate, dedicated pacemaker recorder.
  • Streamlines patient setup and reduces equipment overhead.

The system utilizes integral detection on ECG Channel 1 to accurately capture pacemaker pulse data.

How many diagnostic ECG channels does it record?

The GE Global SEER Light Recorder is designed to capture 2 to 3 channels of high-quality diagnostic ECG data, depending on your specific configuration.

In addition to the primary ECG channels, the system enhances diagnostic accuracy through specialized tracking features:

  • Integrated Pacemaker Detection: Includes a dedicated channel for detecting pacemaker pulses, which eliminates the need for separate or expensive hardware.
  • Movement Tracking: Features an additional channel dedicated to recording patient movement, providing essential context for cardiac event analysis.

All data is captured using reliable solid-state technology and is fully compatible with GE MARS workstation systems for professional analysis.

Does the monitor require special equipment for initial setup?

Yes, the device requires the SEER Light Extend Controller to manage the initial patient hook-up, verify accurate lead placement, and handle the secure transfer of demographic data to the recorder.

Is the recorder powered by convenient AAA batteries?

Yes, the GE Global SEER Light Recorder is designed for ease of use and portability, powered by two standard AAA batteries.

Using readily available AAA batteries simplifies replacement and ensures the device maintains its exceptionally compact and lightweight form factor during ambulatory monitoring.
