What are these precision forceps used for?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps - Semkin Straight are specifically engineered for precise desiccation and coagulation control during electrosurgical procedures, primarily for effective bleeding management.

Key details regarding their use include:

  • Application: Used to achieve highly localized coagulation by grasping tissue and applying a high-frequency electrical current.
  • Compatibility: They are designed to integrate seamlessly with the ConMed Hyfrecator 2000 system.
  • Design: The forceps feature a 6-inch straight configuration with fine 1.5 mm tips and are fully insulated to enhance safety during application.
What is the maximum reusability of the forceps?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps are certified for reusability for up to 20 repeated uses. This characteristic makes them a cost-effective choice for surgical environments.

These forceps are designed to be autoclavable for sterilization. Please note that cold sterilization methods should be avoided, as they may compromise the instrument’s insulating material.

Are these reusable forceps safe for autoclaving?

Yes, the ConMed Bipolar Forceps - Semkin Straight are designed for reusability and are certified for autoclaving for effective sterilization. This is the recommended method for maintaining the instrument.

However, please note the following usage guidelines related to sterilization and lifespan:

  • The instrument is warranted for a maximum of 20 repeated uses.
  • You must avoid cold sterilization methods, as the product information indicates they may cause damage.
In what types of surgical procedures can these forceps be used?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps - Semkin Straight are suitable for a variety of surgical procedures, including:

  • Neurosurgical
  • Ophthalmic
  • Plastic
  • Reconstructive surgical procedures
What are the dimensions of the straight forceps?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps - Semkin Straight has dimensions optimized for precision and targeted application: * Length: 6 inches (15.2 cm) * Tip Size: 1.5 mm * Configuration: Straight This form factor is designed to provide excellent control for critical procedures requiring meticulous desiccation and coagulation.

What equipment is required to use these forceps?

These reusable forceps are designed for integration with the ConMed Hyfrecator 2000 system. To achieve functional operation for precise desiccation and coagulation, you must use the following additional components:

  • Foot switch
  • Bipolar cord
What is the tip size of the forceps?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps - Semkin Straight features a 1.5 mm tip size, specifically engineered for meticulous application and precise desiccation and coagulation control.

The overall dimensions of the instrument are:

  • Tip Size: 1.5 mm
  • Length: 6 inches (15.2 cm)
  • Configuration: Straight
What is the maximum operating voltage?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps are rated for a maximum operating voltage of 300 V peak. It is crucial not to exceed this limit to ensure instrument integrity and maintain safety during electrosurgical procedures.

Do the forceps feature enhanced safety insulation?

Yes, the ConMed Bipolar Forceps - Semkin Straight are insulated. This design feature is critical for enhancing safety and operational control during electrosurgical procedures, preventing unintended current spread.

Do these forceps offer precise bleeding control?

Yes, the ConMed Bipolar Forceps are engineered for precise desiccation and coagulation control.

This function allows for effective management of bleeding during various surgical procedures. The forceps achieve this by delivering a controlled, high-frequency electrical current through the tips when properly connected to the compatible ConMed Hyfrecator 2000 system, along with a required bipolar cord and foot switch.
