To ensure proper and safe operation with the Hyfrecator 2000, you must also use two required, separate accessories:

  • Hyfrecator 2000 Foot Switch (#7-900-4)
  • Bipolar Cord (#7-809-12)
What surgical procedures are the ConMed Bipolar Forceps designed for?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps are specifically designed for neurosurgical, ophthalmic, plastic, and reconstructive surgical procedures where precise coagulation and desiccation are required.

Are these forceps reusable, and if so, how many times can they be reused?

Yes, these forceps are reusable up to 20 times after proper sterilization via autoclaving, making them a cost-effective solution for surgical practices.

What is the precise micro-tip size?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps feature a highly precise Jeweler’s Micro Tip designed for accurate control. The tip size measures 0.4 mm, which is optimal for highly targeted tissue grasping and coagulation in delicate surgical procedures.

What is the voltage limit for the ConMed Bipolar Forceps?

The maximum voltage for these forceps should not exceed 300V peak to ensure safe and effective operation.

What additional equipment is required to operate the ConMed Bipolar Forceps?

To operate these forceps, you will need the Hyfrecator 2000 Foot Switch (#7-900-4) and the Bipolar Cord (#7-809-12). These components are essential for providing the necessary control and connectivity.

What is the proper sterilization method for the forceps?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps are designed to be autoclavable, which is the recommended method for sterilization.

Key guidelines for care and reusability include:

  • The instrument is rated for up to 20 repeated uses.
  • It is crucial to avoid cold sterilization procedures, as they may damage the insulating material of the forceps.
What is the length of the ConMed Bipolar Forceps?

The ConMed Bipolar Forceps have a length of 4 inches (10.2 cm), providing a comfortable reach and maneuverability during surgical procedures.

Are there any alternative tip sizes or models available for the ConMed Bipolar Forceps?
