Frequently asked questions

Does this dressing help manage chronic wound healing?

Yes, this dressing is specifically formulated to support the healing of chronic wounds. It incorporates EDTA, which actively targets and deactivates excess matrix metalloproteinases (MMPs)—enzymes that often act as inhibitors to the healing process in chronic conditions.

How does this dressing provide relief during wear?

The material is designed for patient comfort. As it interacts with wound exudates, it transitions into a soothing, cooling gel, which helps provide physical relief while maintaining the moist environment necessary for tissue repair.

Can these sheets be adjusted for different wound sizes?

Absolutely. The sheets are designed for high flexibility:

  • Trimming: You can cut the sheets to fit the specific shape and size of a wound.
  • Layering: You can layer the sheets if you are managing deeper wounds.
Is the material safe for patients with latex allergies?

Yes. This product is not made with natural rubber latex, making it a safe choice for patients with known latex sensitivities.

Does this dressing help protect against infection?

It serves as an effective barrier between the wound and surrounding bacteria. Additionally, it helps promote the distribution of antimicrobial agents, contributing to better infection control.

What is the primary benefit of the gel-forming technology?

The dressing’s unique blend of sodium alginate, CMC, and collagen creates an optimal moisture balance. By turning into a gel upon contact with drainage, it keeps the wound bed moist, which is essential for granulation tissue formation and epithelialization.

Are there any specific restrictions for using this product?

Yes, please note the following contraindications:

  • Do not use on third-degree burns.
  • Do not use on patients with a known allergy or sensitivity to fish-derived collagen.
Can this be used alongside other medical treatments?

Yes, it is versatile enough for various clinical settings. It may be used in conjunction with compression therapy, provided the application is done under the supervision of a healthcare professional.

What are the recommended storage conditions for this dressing?

To maintain the integrity and sterility of the product, store the sheets in a cool, dry, and well-ventilated area. Ensure the storage temperature does not exceed 77°F (25°C).

Is this product manufactured to high quality standards?

Yes, this is a factory-new medical product manufactured in Canada. It is both BAA (Buy American Act) and TAA (Trade Agreements Act) compliant, ensuring it meets rigorous quality and sourcing standards for professional wound care environments.
