Description

B&L Engineering . A stand-alone device developed to be used just like traditional hydraulic hand dynamometers. With the added capability to save strength testing results in memory, strength testing can be performed and the results reviewed and recorded after all tests are complete. When connected to a PC using USB cable, the Data Transfer Software can transfer the stored test results form the DHD-1 memory into test (.txt) files which can be easily assessed using Notepad or MS-Word for editing and printing.

Frequently asked questions

What are the main advantages of the B&L Engineering Digital Hand Dynamometer over traditional hydraulic models?

The B&L Engineering Digital Hand Dynamometer (DHD-1) offers several key advantages:

  • Digital Data Storage: It saves strength testing results in memory, eliminating the need for manual recording.
  • PC Connectivity: You can transfer stored test results to a PC via USB for easy access, editing, and printing.
  • Familiar Operation: It functions similarly to traditional hydraulic dynamometers, providing a familiar testing experience but with added digital benefits.
How does the data storage feature work on the Digital Hand Dynamometer?

The Digital Hand Dynamometer stores strength testing results directly in its memory. This allows users to conduct multiple tests and then review and record the results after all tests are completed. This eliminates the need for immediate manual recording of each test.

What kind of software is compatible with the dynamometer for data transfer?

The Data Transfer Software provided with the dynamometer creates .txt files. These files are compatible with standard text editors such as Notepad and MS-Word, enabling users to easily edit and print the data.

Can I easily transfer the data from the dynamometer to my computer?

Yes, the dynamometer connects to a PC using a USB cable. The provided Data Transfer Software then allows you to transfer the stored test results from the DHD-1’s memory into .txt files, which can be opened with programs like Notepad or MS-Word.

What are the main clinical uses?

The B&L Engineering Digital Hand Dynamometer is an ideal tool for professional settings that require precise, documented grip strength measurements. Its operational feel mirrors traditional hydraulic models while offering essential digital data storage and PC connectivity.

Primary applications include:

  • Physical Therapy and Rehabilitation: Tracking patient progress during recovery.
  • Clinical Settings: Performing reliable strength assessments where built-in data logging is essential for documentation.
  • Occupational Health Assessments: Documenting and reviewing functional strength levels.

This device is built to facilitate seamless data transfer to a PC for final documentation in standard applications like Notepad or MS-Word.

What type of file format does the Data Transfer Software use?

The Data Transfer Software creates .txt files which are easily accessible using Notepad or MS-Word.

Does the Digital Hand Dynamometer require software to operate?

The B&L Engineering Digital Hand Dynamometer is a stand-alone device, meaning it does not require external software or devices to function during initial strength testing. The Data Transfer Software is only needed when transferring data to a PC.

Does the dynamometer store test results?

The B&L Engineering Digital Hand Dynamometer can save strength testing results directly in its internal memory for later review and recording. These stored results can then be transferred to a PC via a USB cable using the included Data Transfer Software.
