Description

The Allied Healthcare Vacutron Continuous / Intermittent Suction Regulator is a versatile regulator that is compatible with a variety of procedures. Enables both continuous and intermittant suction with a rate up to 320 mm Hg.

Warranty: 10 Years.

The Allied Healthcare Vacutron Continuous / Intermittent Suction Regulator can provide reliable suction for patient airways, as well as intermittent suction for drainage procedures (gastric drainage). Behind the abilities of both of these modes, there are dual safety relief valves that prevent the regulator from reaching past the maximum vacuum level. The internal regulation mechanism keeps vacuum suction stable.

This regulator is available with United States and international models.

Frequently asked questions

Does this unit offer continuous and intermittent modes?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare Vacutron regulator is highly versatile, offering both Continuous (Regulated) and Intermittent suction modes, in addition to an OFF setting. This dual functionality is crucial for various patient needs, from airway maintenance to gastric drainage.

Operating Modes and Specifications

  • Continuous (Regulated) Mode:
    • Purpose: Provides precise, stable, and constant vacuum flow.
    • Range: 0 to 300 mm Hg.
    • Safety: Protected by a relief valve set at a maximum of 320 mm Hg.
  • Intermittent Mode:
    • Purpose: Delivers cyclical suction.
    • Range: 0 to 150 mm Hg.
    • Cycle Time: Operates at a fixed cycle of 17 seconds of suction followed by 10 seconds without suction.
    • Safety: Protected by a relief valve set at a maximum of 170 mm Hg.
Does the regulator include safety relief valves?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare Vacutron prioritizes safety with dual safety relief valves. These specialized valves ensure that the vacuum pressure never exceeds safe, calibrated limits for each operating mode:

  • Regulated (Continuous) Mode: The safety valve is set at 320 mm Hg.
  • Intermittent Mode: The safety valve is set at 170 mm Hg.
What are the vacuum ranges for each mode?

The Allied Healthcare Vacutron provides specific operating ranges for its dual suction capabilities, ensuring safe and effective use:

  • Continuous (Regulated) Mode: The adjustable range is 0 - 300 mm Hg. This mode features a safety relief valve set at 320 mm Hg to prevent excessive vacuum pressure.
  • Intermittent Mode: The adjustable range is 0 - 150 mm Hg. This mode cycles automatically, providing 17 seconds of suction followed by 10 seconds without suction. A separate safety relief valve is set at 170 mm Hg.
What are the cycle times for the intermittent suction mode?

In intermittent mode, the suction cycle is 17 seconds on followed by 10 seconds off.

What is the warranty period for the Allied Healthcare Vacutron?

The Allied Healthcare Vacutron comes with a 10-year warranty.

What is included with the Vacutron regulator?

The purchase includes the factory-new Allied Healthcare Vacutron Continuous / Intermittent Suction Regulator unit. The main regulator comes fully assembled with the specific inlet and outlet connection fittings integral to the unit, based on your selected configuration.

What is included:

  • The main regulator unit with operating controls (OFF, Regulated, Intermittent).
  • The integrated dual-scale vacuum gauge (reading in mm Hg and kPa).
  • The configuration-specific inlet and outlet fittings (e.g., DISS, Chemetron, Puritan Bennett).

Please note: Necessary disposable accessories and consumable supplies are not included and must be purchased separately. These typically include Disposable Collection Canisters, Canister Carriers, Canister Holders, Specimen Bags, and Critical Measurement Inserts.

What is the scale and increment of the vacuum gauge?

The gauge displays vacuum levels from 0 - 300 mm Hg in 5 mm Hg increments, and from 0 - 40 kPa in 2 kPa increments.

How are the operating modes selected?

The operational modes are selected using a prominent, large rotary knob on the faceplate of the regulator. This feature allows for quick switching between the three distinct functional settings:

  • OFF: Deactivates suction.
  • Regulated (Continuous): Provides stable, constant vacuum suction. This mode supports a range of 0 to 300 mm Hg and is ideal for continuous needs like airway maintenance.
  • Intermittent (INT): Provides cyclical suction, commonly used for procedures like gastric drainage. The cycle time is fixed at 17 seconds of suction followed by a 10-second period without suction.
How much does this suction regulator weigh?

The base unit of the Allied Healthcare Vacutron Suction Regulator weighs 1.3 lb (0.59 kg).

For context regarding its size, the overall dimensions are:

  • Height: 6.8 inches (17.3 cm)
  • Width: 2.65 inches (6.7 cm)
  • Depth: 4.07 inches (10.4 cm)
Does it provide stable vacuum suction?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare Vacutron Continuous / Intermittent Suction Regulator features an internal regulation mechanism that ensures consistent and reliable vacuum suction throughout its operation.
