Frequently asked questions

Is this bag valve mask reusable, or is it for single-patient use?

The Allied Healthcare L770 Series Bag Valve Mask is designed for single-patient use to ensure a sterile environment. This significantly reduces the risk of cross-contamination between patients.

Does the L770 Series come in multiple sizes?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare L770 Series Bag Valve Mask is designed to meet the needs of various patient populations and is available in three primary sizes: Adult, Child, and Infant.

The specific configuration detailed here (L770-040) is the Adult BVM, which is typically recommended for patients weighing >40 kg and has a bag volume of 1488 ml.

Key Size Differences

While this listing focuses on the Adult size, the product line is configured as follows:

  • Adult (L770-040): For patients >40 kg. This configuration does not include a pressure relief valve, allowing the operator maximum control.
  • Infant & Specific Child Models: These smaller sizes typically include a safety feature: an operator-overrideable 45 cm H₂O pop-off relief valve to protect sensitive patient lungs.
Does this bag valve mask have a PEEP valve port?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare L770 Series Bag Mask features PEEP valve ports. This allows for connection to PEEP (Positive End-Expiratory Pressure) valves and manometers, enabling advanced respiratory support and monitoring.

What high-quality materials are used?

The L770 Series Bag Valve Mask is engineered for dependable operation using durable, latex-free materials that also offer improved heat-resistance.

Key components and their specific materials include:

  • Bag: Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR), a high-quality, latex-free synthetic material.
  • Mask: Durable Alpha PVC 3006-95.
  • Deflector: High-density polyethylene.
  • Valve and Oxygen Enrichment Ports: Phillips 66 KRO3.
Is this bag valve mask latex-free?

Yes, the Allied Healthcare L770 Series Bag Mask is latex-free. This minimizes the risk of allergic reactions for both patients and medical personnel.

What is included with the L770 Bag Mask?

The Allied Healthcare L770 Series Bag Mask is a sterile, fully assembled manual resuscitator designed for single-patient use. It is constructed using latex-free materials.

The standard components included with every unit are:

  • The resuscitation bag (made from Thermoplastic Rubber)
  • Patient Valve
  • Mask
  • Reservoir (where applicable based on configuration)
  • 7 feet of oxygen tubing
  • 3 feet of corrugated extension tubing

The system also features compatibility ports for connecting monitoring accessories, including a manometer and a PEEP valve (accessories sold separately).

What is the bag volume for the adult size?

The adult bag volume for the L770 Series Bag Mask is 1488 ml.

What material is the resuscitator bag made from?

The resuscitator bag for the Allied Healthcare L770 Series is constructed from Thermoplastic Rubber (TPR).

This high-quality, synthetic material provides crucial benefits:

  • Latex-Free: The TPR construction ensures the bag is completely latex-free, which minimizes the risk of allergic reactions.
  • Durability: It is designed for reliable performance, offering improved heat resistance.
  • Wide Operating Range: The bag maintains its function across a broad temperature range, from -30°F to 125°F.
Is a safety pressure relief valve included?

The inclusion of a safety pressure relief valve depends on the specific patient size configuration of the L770 Series Bag Valve Mask.

Here is the breakdown of configurations:

  • Infant/Neonate Models: Yes, these models include an essential safety feature: an overrideable 45 cm H₂O pop-off relief valve. This mechanism is designed to help protect the patient from over-inflation.
  • Child Models: The pressure relief valve is available on specific variants. Child BVMs are offered in configurations both with (e.g., L770-100) and without (e.g., L770-101) the integrated relief feature.
  • Adult Models (L770-040 configuration): An integrated safety relief valve is not included in the standard adult unit.

All L770 units are designed to interface with advanced ventilation monitoring and management, featuring dedicated ports for connecting optional accessories like disposable manometers and PEEP valves (sold separately).

What are the operating temperature limits?

The Allied Healthcare L770 Series Bag Valve Mask is constructed from heat-resistant, latex-free materials, such as the Thermoplastic Rubber bag, ensuring reliable operation across extreme conditions.

Key temperature limits are:

  • Operating Temperature: -30°F to 125°F
  • Storage Temperature: -40°F to 160°F
