Headlights and Accessories
For more brilliant and finite illumination, a physician or surgeon may require a headlight. As a hands-free, unobstructed light source, a headlight can provide the illumination needed for more delicate surgery and other procedures. An important feature of headlights is their ability to be “shadow-free,” which allows physicians to see where they’re working more clearly. Headlights are especially useful for dermatologists, surgeons, and other specialists who conduct close-up finite procedures.
Parts of the Headlight System
Headlights are made of more than just the light itself. They also require a power source and transport units to be functional around a hospital or clinic.
Headlight: The headlight itself consists of the light source and a headband system that secures it to your head. The headband also holds the connectors and cables needed to power the headlight and control light intensity.
Power Source: The Headlights are not wireless and must be plugged into a power source. Burton offers a portable battery pack to accompany its headlamp, while Welch Allyn devices tout wheeled components for easy mobility around a room. Both systems also have knobs available that allow for light adjustment and more.
Transportation Accessories: Both Welch Allyn and Burton have floorstand components with their headlight systems. These floorstands are equipped with platforms for the power source, caster wheels, and hook to hold the cables and headlight units.
