Unlike the blunt, scooping tip of the Meyhoefer instrument, the Heath curette has a round, fenestrated tip, with one sharp side and one blunt side. The sharp side may be used for scraping and cutting small chalazion, while the blunt side is used for removal of the mass once the cuts have been made.
