Description
Sklar's Schmeden tonsil punch forceps are finger ring instruments used by ENTS for removing diseased or persistently over inflamed tonsils. The long shaft is useful in reaching the tonsil location. Today, tonsillectomy is most commonly performed as part of sleep disordered breathing problems versus primary infection of the tonsils. If tonsils are repeatedly infected or inflamed and resistant to other treatments, complete removal may still be performed. The Schmeden is available in two tip sizes, and features a triangular shaped basket, distingushing it from the Hartmann in this product class.
